Edition 10 – Cape Town, but not as you know it

Cape Town is one of those destinations people think they already understand.

The mountains, the coastline, the wineries, the restaurants. All of that is part of it.

But what makes Cape Town interesting to us is the contrast.

You can move through one of the world’s most visually striking cities, eat exceptionally well, spend time by the ocean and still have enough space in the day to take it all in.

Some destinations are all about energy, while others work best when the intention is to retreat from everything. Cape Town sits somewhere in between.

There’s plenty to discover without needing to be constantly on the go. Nature is always close, but you don’t have to disappear from the world to enjoy it, and there’s enough variety to make the trip feel full without becoming exhausting.

Restorative travel doesn’t have to mean withdrawing from everything.

You can still discover somewhere new, eat well, laugh, learn and feel part of a place. The difference is in the pace – and in choosing a destination that gives you both energy and space.

That’s what Cape Town does particularly well.

It’s also one of the reasons we chose it as the setting for the women’s Embodiment Retreat we’ll be sharing next week.
